Jane Turner: On the Ways That Theater, Business, Risk, and Taking More Time to be a Mom Paved the Way to Leading one of Atlanta’s Cultural Centerpieces (#36)

Jane Turner, Executive Director of the Atlanta Children’s Museum, talks with Chuck about her journey to leading one of the city’s cultural centerpieces. She discusses her decision to leave the workforce to spend more time as a mom and the identity challenges that brought with it, and about how getting involved in theater showed up in how she creates engaging environments at her current post and how taking risks has produced all the good things that have happened along her career journey.

She also talked about how learning and literacy fueled by play is true not only for children but also for us adults.

Please listen in on our conversation for a boost of inspiration and insight from one of Atlanta’s most well-known and respected leaders.

Many talk about purposeful change, but true examples are rare. I strive to be one of those examples and invite you to join me on this journey.

With over 30 years of experience working with everyone from Fortune 50 executives to college students, I've learned that no one has all the answers. The key is finding the approach that resonates with you.

I challenge myself and others to rethink the scripts we've inherited and design lives that are uniquely our own. I'm passionate about connecting with change-makers who are living differently and showing us what's possible.
